I was born in Altus, OK to F.W. and Ernestine Elmore. We moved frequently during my childhood living in Altus; Jameson, Missouri; Ft. Worth, Plainview, Abernathy, and Fritch, Texas. I graduated from Phillips (TX) High and Wayland College in Plainview, TX. Married Robert D. Hamner while in college and adopted two sons. Finished a Masters degree in library science at the Univ. of Texas at Austin in 1981, and spent most of my working career in libraries, elementary school through university level. My husband and I are both retired and live in Frisco, Texas near our sons and grandchildren.
