I'm a marketing executive living in Alexandria, VA. I inherited an interest in genealogy from my father, who traveled to England and Ireland to research our ancestors in the 1970s.

I'm not related to almost all of the interments I manage -- My family is not from around here; I do the Baltimore-DC area research in hope that the good karma will help me find fellow gravers in New York, Connecticut, West Virginia, and North Carolina.

Speaking of which: I'm descended from the Bentleys in Westford, Otsego County, NY. Moses Delos Bentley (1834-1899) is my paternal G-G-Grandfather, and served in the Union Army during the Civil War.

My maternal grandmother's family are Hines (Germany) and Foley (County Cork Ireland).

On my mother's side, I am a Harmon (sometimes spelled Harman) and Cartright, via Tazewell County, VA.
