Bio

I am Charles Dilley of Taylorville Illinois. Born February 8,1943 in Nokomis Illinois. I love history and researching Civil War veterans and early settlers and their families from Christian and Shelby County Illinois. In each family of mankind, there is one who seems drawn and called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the person's story and to feel that somehow they know they are not forgotten but remembered by mankind. . Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of those who treaded this earth before us. Help keep their memory alive. I tour Battlfields and old settlements when I get a chance.I have traced both sides of my family back to the 1700's and really enjoyed doing it.
