Elizabeth A. Donzella

I was born in Sleepy Hollow NY (Westchester County), where three generations of my family had lived previously. I am the eldest of four kids. We lived in Rockland County for six years, where I attended St. Paul's School and Valley Cottage Elementary. In 1969, we moved to Fort Lauderdale and have been in Broward County ever since. I attended Floranada Elementary School, Rickards Middle, and Pine Crest before graduating from Northeast High School in 1977. I then attended Mercer University in Macon, GA, graduating in 1981 with a BA in Communication (double minor in English and Journalism).

Incidentally, my maternal grandparents were John Joseph Hynes, Sr and Elizabeth Mary Sullivan. His parents were Denis Hynes and Sarah Agnes Deegan from Canada. My grandmother's parents were John L. Sullivan from Fort Edward NY; her mother was Anna Mary Smith. Anna's parents were Frank and Eliza Smith, also from Fort Edward/Washington County, New York.

On my father's side: Dad's mother was Concetta Maria Burrafato; his father was Carmelo Giovanni Donzella. Both were from Ragusa, Sicily. Concetta's parents were Emanuela Fatuzza and Giorgio Burrafato. Carmelo's parents were Emanuela Muccio and Giovanni Donzella.

Also, my aunt Nellie Donzella married Joseph Guerrieri.
