Bio

I have been interested in genealogy and history (and old graves) ever since I can remember. My father died in 1992, in the exact spot he was born (not the same house)less than a mile from the family cemetery he would be buried in, next to his parents and grand-parents and most of his brothers and sisters, not to mention cousins and aunts and uncles. I have very early childhood memories of him walking with me in that cemetery, pointing out tombstones and telling me about the person, who they were, how we were related and often a bit of family trivia. I wish I had written it all down. When I look at a grave I always wonder about the person buried there. I want to share the stories that I know before they are forgotten and I want to know the stories of others so they won't be forgotten. I can trace the history of the European settlement of America through my children's family tree and I think that's really cool. Family names I have tried to trace(in America)are Ficklin(g), Guidry, Lewis, Lay, Villar, Yarborough, Angelle, Hodgeson, Houston, Cagle, Wycliff to name a few. It's a never ending challenge, but one I never get tired of.
