I came to Illinois from the Pacific Northwest in 1986. My husband and I have lived in the Sterling area, residing in rural Hopkins Township, for the past 35 years.

I've been involved in genealogy for almost 40 years and have enjoyed finding fascinating information on my family lineages. Following the trail back from the west to the east, one begins to realize the perils and hardships our ancestors had to endure to make new lives for themselves. I'd like to think that some of that "pioneer spirit" still lives in us all yet today.

In April of 2022, I was officially recognized as a Mayflower descendant of Peter Brown through the Society of Mayflower Descendants in Plymouth.
