Bio

I am a family Historian and Genealogist Researcher and Lifetime Member of Georgia Genealogy Researchers in the South Local Chapter. I am also a National Chapter Member of Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. based out of Washington, DC.

My family history started at Mt. Olive Baptist Church where I joined as a teenager under the late Pastor Max B. McIllwain. The late Reverend Alexander (Alex) Anderson was the founder of the church. Reverend Anderson was my step great-great grandfather.

My ancestors are the very fibers of our being and in my learning about them they were strong leaders in the church and were firm on doing the "Will of God" based on 4 principals. First, the will of God will never go against Scripture and will always be supported by it. Second, it will come more than once. It will not just be a once-time thought but it will burn in our mind and heart over a necessary period of time. Third, it will be supported by the history of how God dealt with humanity. Our cherished Christian tradition will show us that "Yes", indeed, God taught in such a manner to people in the past and he continues to work the same way today." Fourth, if it is a true word of the Lord, it may very well stretch our faith, our trust and even our reason. It may first seem to be out of the question in terms of whether it can be done. It will not be silly or foolish. Fourth, if it is the true will of the Father, it will give him praise and will be centered on obedience to him. Jesus said to John (John 5:30,) "I don't try to please myself, but I try to please the One who sent me." Jesus said to us, "If you love me, you will obey my commands" (John 14:15).

Special "Thank You" to my parents Early & Dicie Allen Pharr for keeping obituaries over the year's they were very helpful to me in placing family members on this website with their pictures. I could not have done it without your help!

I am passionate about preserving our Family History and Church history.
