My family history research began before I was born with my mother's passion for finding "her people" as she called our ancestors. From the 1950's until her death in 2017, Carol Dexter Minson gathered information about anyone connected to our family lines. She filled a room with files, pictures, charts, and notebooks. I would often find her late into the night at her desk typing on an old manual typewriter.

In the 1980's I caught her passion as I learned the names and dates of our "people" were more than just names and dates. They were real people with real lives and stories that mattered. Sharing their lives and stories became my passion too.

Mom left me with over 25 file drawers and 30 binders to support our information on our ever-growing tree. I continue to add those sources in FamilySearch (which is free to anyone) .
