Thanks to my mother and her fascination with genealogy, I grew up playing in cemeteries. We'd be taking a Sunday drive and she'd yell to my father "Oh, stop!" and there we'd be, hanging out among the tombstones again.

Now, as an adult, I spend a lot of time walking in cemeteries. I love to see how styles of grave markers have evolved over the years.

My sister is the one who does the genealogy research now and I try to keep track of the graves.
