A curiosity for my ancestral heritage was always inherent in my being. As a child I would ask my mother or grandmother who certain people were that we met and how they were related to us. If we had pictures I would have them write on the back of the picture the names and relationship of the person to us. It finally paid off when I began my search and began putting pieces together.

I became a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution - Chico Chapter in 2011. My ancestor that I went in on for membership is my fourth great-grandfather James Allison (1747-1847) who fought in the war as a 2nd Lieutenant 3rd Regiment Maryland Line serving from 1777-1780. He was a prisoner of the British for a time in 1780.

I also am a member of Beta Sigma Phi, an international women's social, cultural and service organization. I have been a member since 1967.
