Bio

My name is John Swift, born 4-10-40 in Hendricks County, Indiana. My interest in genealogy has stretched over a forty-five year period with a focus on finding my G-G-G Grnadfather's pioneer graveyard in Marion County, Indiana. My search came to pass in 2009 when we found it at 2400 West Forty-second street, Wynnedale, a subburb of Indianapolis. It is in the corner of a small town park called Sleepy Hollow where last Labor Day we placed VFW markers for Thomas E. Swift (War of 1812) and his son, George W. Swift (Civil War) The Indiana Sons of Civil War Soldiers came in costome and re-dedicated the site. If you visit their web site you can find photos etc.
Thomas Swift moved his family to Indy from Watauga County, NC and I would now like to find his father's grave site, Elias 1760-1834 married to Lucy 1763-1823.
