Bio

I grew up in Feasterville, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Holy Family University I relocated to Maryland's eastern shore to teach in a public school. I then joined the Army and became a nurse. I now reside in Easton, Md. where I am employed as a private duty nurse.
I grew up next to Sunset Memorial Park. This is where I spent many days playing with friends, reading gravemarkers, digging through piles of disposed flowers to savage the good ones for my mom and reflecting on life and death. There is a pet cemetery there as well, my Father buries his dogs there. I have always been drawn to cemeteries, I love the history, honoring those who are forgotten and uncovering graves lost in ivy and roots. The most exciting grave I visited was Jim Morrison's in Paris. I saw the composer Chopin as well. I could have spent weeks in that cemetery it was overwhelming.
I have always cleaned up headstones that needed love and have started a group in my community called "Grave keepers of Talbot County". Members are encouraged to adopt specific plots that are not managed and clean them, rid them of weeds and photograph them. I encourage young people to do this for community service hours hoping they will research the history of the deceased and learn to value their community and its ancestors. Now I will send them your website so they can contribute as well!
