I am an amateur genealogist that works on my own family's tree branches from time to time and not making much headway. I am a novice at best. I currently (2024) live in Florida with my husband who is retired from the US Navy. My family roots (Mathis/McFarland & Avritt/Flanagan) are in KY, SC, & NC and the hubby's roots (Hartley/McGlothlin & Martin/Edwards & Hale/Drury) are mostly in CA, IL, OK, MO, & GA respectively.
