Bio

My direct maternal family line includes the Dupree, Corbitt, Williams, McLeod, Rye, Dart, Grantham, Lott, Roberts, Albritton, and Rimes families. Many of these early ancestors traveled south from the Carolinas through Georgia, to settle in Manatee County, Florida and surrounding areas.
Paternal surnames include Barfield, Smith, Johns, Fortner, Manning, Miller, Presley, and Elliott. These families also migrated south and settled in Conecuh County, Alabama during the 1800's. My Barfield and Smith lines have been very difficult to trace due to lack of historical records.
I have been researching my family lines and collateral lines for around 9 years, and I enjoy the challenges that are often involved in genealogical research. Although I do enjoy learning more about my ancestors and those who they were associated with, my ultimate goal is to preserve family history for future generations.
