My brother & I are new to Find A Grave, although he has been doing our family genealogy 12+ years. I think Find A Grave fills the gap for people who either don't have the time or money to do full blown genealogy.

Being of the last generation to grow up without computers as a commonplace thing the family information & stories come from Family Bibles or across a campfire as a kid. If we don't write it down or input it now it will be lost to future generations. Also it's nice to leave a Memorial to passed family & friends, not to be forgotten. I think linking family Memorials to each other will be important to future genealogist.

I believe in taking the best photos of Grave Markers possible, for 2 reasons; For people who live a long distant away and can't make the trip, the other reason is it only takes one 14 year old with too much time on his hands and a sledgehammer to destroy history.

I will be glad to transfer a Memorial to a family member or friend who has more information then I do. I do this out of respect for the dead and history.
