I have been researching the Flanagan-Mannion name of my Irish paternal grandparents since 1992. I have not made much headway, but have found loads of info on my husbands Edward M Quinnan's family of Quinnan and Gunning. I truly believe the Irish hid their backgrounds well, wanting no one to find the skeletons in their closets.As for myself, I love to find those skeletons in the cemeteries, on gravestones and in the obituaries. Will help when I can.
I am called "the Grave Stalker" by my family.
