Am a keen genealogist with a large tree on Ancestry. It amazes me how connections are made. Whilst not direct bloodline relatives Karl Marx and Henry 8th appear on the family tree.

Have also come across people I have known for years only to discover recently that we have a distant family connection.

So sad to see so many gravestones in disrepair or broken on the floor of cemeteries. I try whenever I visit any cemetery to take pictures of headstones that are fallen or look like they will do before long.

Some people find cemeteries a morbid place I find them peaceful and fascinating being able to look back upon peoples history.

To quote the late great writer Sir Terry Pratchett,
"A man's not dead while his name is still spoken"
While we research these people we are keeping their stories alive.
