I LOVE family history and I LOVE cemeteries!!! To me, a cemetery is one of the most beautiful, peaceful places on earth. Here's the running joke in our family -- we're driving down the road, a family member sees a cemetery, and everyone yells, "Quick, hit the automatic door lock button so Mom can't get out!!"

My ancestors came from England and Scotland, settled in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan, and eventually worked their way west. My husband is distantly related to Ralph Waldo Emerson, and thus his paternal ancestors hail from Massachusetts, Vermont, and Delaware. Meanwhile, his maternal ancestors farmed the Henry County, Virginia, hills for over 200 years. I love the research/paper chase, while my husband favors the "in-the-field" research at cemeteries and homeplaces.
