Bio

I am the 9th generation of John Chenoweth1, progenitor of his arrival to America (via Barbados)abt 1698. I, along with immediate family members, are actively researching genealogy information of our progenitor John1 Chenoweth who immigrated to America (Baltimore, Maryland)from Cornwall County, UK ~1700. John1 then moved to Virginia from Baltimore County, Maryland.

Most of our closest relatives settled and lived in Indiana and Fulton County, IL (Harris & Farmers Twps).
It seems Temple is the principle cemetery where many Chenoweth families are buried. I have many photos of graves there and in the process of placing each to specific Chenoweth lines along with available data. We utilize major search website, newspapers, obits and various other available records from many family members.
We are seeking any Chenoweth information and photos and/or stories from Fulton County IL and El Paso/Elbert Counties CO areas. We are also requesting any photos or records from the old Temple Baptist Church located across the road from the cemetery. I believe it was torn down in the early '50s.
Our research team is deeply involved in this project, consisting of my 1st cousins (Mike J. Chenoweth9-AL and Bonnie9 (Stoneking)Schenck-IL,nephew, Duane Dean10-IL and my brother Everett (deceased Feb2015).
I was born and lived near Marietta, Harris Twp, Fulton County,IL and later moved to Wisconsin in 1987. I'm now retired after moving in June 2014 to Carver MA from NW Iowa.
Our ggg-grand-father: William5/Martha Jones, gg-grand-father: Joseph6/Mary J (Silvernail) Chenoweth; Grandfather/grandmother: Charles7 Wilford "Big Charlie" and Mahala 'Lina' Caroline (Ray) (Johnson) Chenoweth; My father was Sidney8 Orange and mother Elma Mae (Shawgo) Chenoweth. I have one brother, Everett9 (deceased) b. 11Apr1935- d. 27Feb2015,Harris Cem. McDonough County IL,and a sister Dorothy Darlene (Chenoweth9 Dean(IL)(Gerald "Bud" Dean. Infant brother, Edward Sidney Chenoweth9 B. 1933 d. 1933 is also buried in the Chenoweth Plat at Temple Cemetery along with my aunt Violet Chenoweth9.
