What can I say about myself... I never considered myself a ghoul, although I do like the occasional George Romero movie... Basically I've always been interested in history, and a cemetery is full of history... Wandering through and finding the grave of a soldier who lost his life a week before Lee surrendered to Grant... A monument that shows the grief of a loved one lost too soon... Sometimes a monument to match the ego of the person resting beneath it... More often than not an average working man or woman who did their best to get through life and deserve something to let the living know they were once here, whether you knew them or not. A cemetery can also be a place to find out not where you are going, but where you came from. I'm sure it's been said by someone out there, so I paraphrase whomever, "Cemeteries are not monuments to the dead, but celebrations of the lives they once lived."
