I am very new to findagrave.com as a volunteer. However I have used it for three years in my genealogical search for my family and have found it invaluable.
Initially I began taking photos and adding to the site to update or add my own families information from local cemeteries. I did sign up to be a contributor, and when I got my first assignment, to say I was jazzed would be an understatement.
There is so much gratification in retrieving these photos for family and loved ones of those who have passed. Also going into a cemetery office and say, "I am with find-a-grave" or have folks ask you about it is a great feeling too. I have always felt at ease in cemeteries, because I have a strong faith base and the hunt for the information is a part that drives me. Walking row after row to clarify information. Observing and appreciating the great care folks take in memorializing their family or loved one. I am happy to be a part of this group and hope to keep up the good work!
