I was born in 1950 near Schaefferstown,PA and grew up on the family farm,and being the only child,I took over the farm in 1975 raising beef cattle and crop farming.From my youth I was always interested in cemeterys, since every Memorial Day my parents and I would place flowers from our garden on graves of deceased family members that were located on different local cemeterys,this normally would be a whole day affair.I was mostly attached to the Schaefferstown Cemetery since our closest family members are interred there and I live only two miles from it.About seven years ago I was asked to become a board member of the Schaefferstown Cemetery Assn.and accepted.Since then I have been doing various projects there including updating maps and records,and taking over as overseer in the last year.I am willing to help anyone with questions concerning the cemetery or on anyone that is interred there since I do enjoy helping people if I can.
