I am on the Granville Cemetery Board and am trying to create an index of all the burials for our cemetery. Prior to 1948, our records were very incomplete. I am monitoring this site, looking for any burials added that we do not have in our official records.

I am also walking the cemetery to fulfill the requirement of the Illinois Oversight Act for a complete database of all burials in our cemetery. All stones moved to take photos and verify burial information were returned to original position. Special care was taken to do no harm. Product used to "rub" stones does no harm and was supplied by a monument company especially for this purpose. Find A Grave is just benefiting from the new Illinois State requirements.
