Bio

I am 40 year old Rochester NY native who has been rather obsessed with graveyards since my youth. Around 1990 I began photographing Mt. Hope Cemetery here in Rochester NY, a gorgeous old Gothic Victorian cemetery of some National repute. For the past couple years, after obtaining a digital camera, I have been photographing graveyards and gravestones from all over western NY. I've been to every graveyard in Monroe County and in many surrounding counties. I've made trips to Newburgh NY and Port Jarvis NY as well and found even older gravestones. I recently visited Boston and found the oldest stones and most fantastic gravestone art yet. My plight is to find the oldest cemetery and the oldest gravestone in the USA.

Just a note: I tend to photograph the older and eye-catching gravestones in each cemetery I visit. I rarely photograph anything after 1900 - I'm drawn to stones from the 1800's and earlier (where I can find them). I have 1000's of pictures, so if you're looking for a photograph of a gravestone from the 1800's, I MIGHT have it. If it's a local cemetery (Rochester NY area) and I don't have the stone you're seeking a picture of, I can easily go locate it and photograph it for you.

To view some of my photographs, I have a photo album in my facebook profile. Follow this link and log in:
