Children: Lee Ann Lott ( Mrs. Russell C. 1948-1997) (we raised our nephew Jeremy Lynn Wedgeworth as our own son), Patty Ruth (Mrs. Hoye Raymond Herring Jr. havd a sob Raymond III), Barbara June (Corbett /Karbet "Dedeaux" Wedgeworth) Their children: Jeremy, Martin Ray, Walter Perry, Angela Rochelle, Rebeccah Renea, Roger Dale. Mary Elizabeth & children Fatima Marie Ghamdi Snowden (Saudi father) & "Cy" Charles Y. M. Lee-Snowden (named for his Japanese/Hawaiian father and grandfather). james Madison (named after grandfather & great grandvfather.
4. Betty Jean (Mrs. James Hub Parker of Wiggins, MS) (Bill Crow) Gunter,
5,6, 7. 2 sons who died as infants, another son ______who died as a toddler,
8. Everett (Carrie Wayne Wallace Gunter Campbell * she is the daughter of ny cousin Josephine Parks*) (Mrs. Brenda Strickland Gunter). Brenda is the mother of his 3 sons Milton, Michael & Paul.
9. Hazel Ellen (Mrs. Ned Taylor of Oil Well Rd. Wiggins, MS). Children: Theresa (dau. Kayla) and Jeff.

(Barbara was the daughter of Mattie Pearl Merchant - Mrs. Parmalee Dunnaway - they had 2 other daughters and their son Charles was killed in a freak auto accident, age 17. **Barbara Owen is a 2nd cousin to my husband Russell C Lott & and John Owen is my 2nd cousin.** Barbara is the grand daughter of Hester Merchant, who was the daughter of Jim Martin of the Sheraw Community near Foxworth, MS.

Grannie Bertie Mae Gunter's mother was Mary Jane Reid who married David Daniel Owen who was born 1/28/1873 probably in BRAZIL.
Apparently his parents were born in Alabama. Possibly the Bay Minnett or Citronell area.. His parents were known to us as Lavert or Laurent
(have also heard Layfayette or Lawrence) Owen who martied Ellen DAVIS born 11-20-1844.. He is buried in Richburg Cemetary near Hattiesburg, MS.

My great grandmothe's brother, William Daniel Owen (Uncle W.D.) told the story that 3 of these boys worked their way from Brazil on. Spanish banana or coffee boat. Apparently to South Carolina. The name Augusta came up in the retelling. That may have been where they obtained travel passports for Georgia Indian Territory.
Also, Uncle W.D. said their names were or had been changed to Bassard (?) .
John Wesley Owen appears in both 1910 & 1920 census of beat 5 Perry Co. MS. One shows wife Lizzie and the other Sarah several children.
We are seeking info on the older Owens & Davis connection. When they left USA. Where in Brazil they lived. Name changes. When how & where they returnrd to the states. Brazillian records. Ship info.
We have no recorded info and we are dying fast.
