Born at Wing, Yell County, Arkiansas on June 29, 1935. Attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Arkansas. I became a resident of California in 1957. I joined the San Diego Police Department July 22, 1957 and retired as a Sergeant Sept 28 1990. My best assignemnt was that of a SWAT Sergeant. I developed the SWAT Policy and training manual. I served as the only Hostage Negotiator for four years and was on call 24 hours a day

I was drafted by the Army on October 1, 1958, I chose Infantry as my Branch of assignmnent. I attended Officer's Candidate school and was commisioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on October 7, 1959. I was assigned to a reserve Special forces Until for 15 years and ws the Company Comander for seven of those years. I retired as a full Colonel in 1990.

Now I sit around and watch as time passes on.
However. I do spend a lot of time in Arkansas Hunting and fishing with my Cousin Dennis Pickens.
