My goal as is many others, to bring to life the names of so many who have gone on before us and many who have long since been forgotten. The following in which I firmly agree with is a quote from Essex (#47519815) here on findagrave.com.

"The purpose here is twofold: to pay tribute to those who have gone before us and to assist those who are seeking genealogy information about their family.

This information is available from public records, newspapers and headstones, all accessible to the public. If you have additional information you would like added to a memorial or if you would like to have a memorial omitted, please let me know."

I do not encourage anyone to leave any personal information about "Living Persons" such as Survivors of family's and I try to remove it from all Obituary's when I can.

The site does not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living. However, when transcribing a cemetery, it is not always possible to determine if the person is living or not. You are welcome to create a 'pre-need' memorial for yourself provided that you have a pre-need headstone already in place in a cemetery. Memorials for living people will be removed when a family member contacts the manager with proof or knowledge that the individual is still alive (the exception being for 'famous' individuals who already have a burial location in place).

When I started this No One told me this information would be going to or provided to Ancestry.com. I feel that those on FindAGrave who work hard to link families together are more accurate than Ancestry.com and should get free information from Ancestry.com. To say the least.
