My husband is a native of Bay City and most of his family history is in Matagorda county. I picked up working on my family history after my sister passed away. Work with the local historians and record keepers at the cemetery. I have found from personal experience that sometimes the graves are moved and just because it says a town on the death certificate does not mean that is where they are buried.
