Michigan-born and raised, now living in Arizona.
Dad's family has roots in Michigan basically since statehood, and in the US since the Colonial period in a number of branches, and is mostly English, German, and Scottish. Also have roots on the Mayflower and am distantly related to President John Adams.
Mom's family is Dutch, Dutch, and more Dutch, with just a sprinkling of German. (Honestly, though, they're from a town so close to the Dutch border that they may as well be Dutch... though they may actually be East Frisian. The jury's still out on that.)
