This is a wonderful site and I have been visiting find a grave since it's very beginning. I have long loved cemeteries as places of history and most always of beauty. In my family visiting the relatives out at the cemetery was a normal part of our lives. With special attention on "Decoration" now Memorial day, when the stones or brass plaques would be washed and polished, the grass trimmed and new flowers would be divided amongst, grandparents, parents cousins, brothers and sisters and spouses. That is how many people learned their family histories in a community. I remember many heated discussions about where Aunt Ella was buried and where so and so's brother was situated in the cemetery. Death was a part of normal living. I loved it. It is only right to volunteer anywhere I can to continue this gift I was given.
As I currently live part time in San Diego I am available to volunteer in the general area of San Diego county or Santa Barbara country. I visit cemeteries where ever I travel and will be in touch to see if I can be of help.
