Bio

Born in rural Lafayette Parish, Louisiana with a Rayne, Louisiana address less then a mile south east of Acadia/Lafayette Parish(County) line in 1937. I'm told it was a raining that day and my Dad had to rush into Rayne about 3 miles away in horse drawn buggy, on muddy gravel road to alert the doctor. When he arrived at Dr. Faulk's office, he was told that the Dr. had been called out in our neck of the woods and they would get the message to him. This was before telephones were being used in rural areas so the Dr. had to return to town to get the message.

When I was about 4 years old, we moved to Acadia parish on the south east corner of what is now Leroy Breaux Road at Standard Mill Road where Dad became a farm hand for Clebert "Barro" Breaux. After Clebert's death, his son Davis took over the farm and we moved into the Clebert home where Dad tended the farm. By then I had a brother Gerald 6 and sister Joanne 5, and brother Lesley Dale was born later that year(1949) after we had moved in.

I started 1st grade at St. Joseph Catholic School but graduated from Rayne High, public school in 1958 and went to work for Mervine Kahn Co. as a hardware clerk from 58-59, W.A Kennedy as a grocery clerk from 59-63. Married Gloria Ann Moore in 1961 while working for Kennedy and in 1963 we moved to Groves,Texas to work for Market Basket Food Store.

Gloria and I had 3 children, Danny, Shannon and Anna. Gloria passed away in 2004 and in 2006 I moved back to Louisiana where I married high school sweetheart Julia Falcon-LaCroix.
