Bio

I am descended from many of the Dutch (as well as some English and French) families of Rockland County, New York and nearby New Jersey -- Blauvelt, Polhemus, Wood, Vervalen, Crane, de Repelye, deWint/deWindt, Martine, Remsen, Smith, Tallman, Hopper, van Houten -- as well as German families from New York City, Queens, and Brooklyn -- Wendling, Schaefer, Hafner, Kuhnel, Fuerst, Duden. I've been researching these ancestors and adding memorials as appropriate.

Beginning in early 2023, I am involved in a personal project to update or create FG Memorials for all the deceased descendants of my Great Great Grandfather, John Howard Blauvelt of Rockland County and Brooklyn, New York. I am focusing research on these 300+ individuals, requesting transfers for those who already have memorials, and creating new ones for those who do not. Suggested edits are always welcome, with appropriate documentation. I am not a "collector" of memorials. I'm doing them so I can easily update my relatives and make their stories available. Of the hundred or so living descendants of John H. Blauvelt, I am apparently one of only a few doing any genealogy work.

I welcome any corrections or additional information concerning the ancestors I have memorialized. While I give my posted photos freely for informational purposes, please do not publish them elsewhere without permission, especially the photos of people.
