I grew up in Western North Dakota. My grandfather fought in WWII and in his retirement years he did the placing of flags on Veterans graves each and every military holiday in his hometown. Us grandchildren would often go with and help him. Along the way he always told the best stories of those who had passed and were buried there. I grew up never fearing the graveyard and came to respect all those buried there, I treasure the history and I am fond of the peace found there.
