I have loved tracing my family tree since I was a child. I was making pedigree charts before I even knew there was such a thing as pedigree charts.

I love today's technology and the abundance of information that is available to those that wish to find it. Recently, thanks to Find-A-Grave, I have been finding and linking to so many relatives on both my parents. This is very exciting and rewarding for me.

It is so exciting for me to finally see pictures and have information on the lives of my father's relatives and my grandfather Ogden's family. These families have always been a mystery to me. I knew one uncle on my fathers paternal side and some of his children because they also lived in
Colorado. When I lived in Kentucky, I made a special trip to Charleston, MO. where I was able to visit and met one paternal aunt. When I was about four years old I did briefly meet a brother of my maternal grandfather in Oregon, but I have no recollection of him. I have heard their names but always felt disconnected to them. This site is helping me to feel that connection I always desired.

I was very fortunate on my mothers maternal side that I knew several generations of grandparents and heard many stories. It was my great grandmother Smith and my great great grandmother Gillespie that gave me the desire to learn of my family. I was so blessed to know them both.

Family means a great deal to me. My children and grandchildren live so far away from me I am not able to visit or see them very often. This has been very hard for me. My greatest desire is to be able to spend more time with my children, my mother and my grandchildren.

My goal here at Find-A-Grave is to connect as many families as I can and to keep each record as accurate as possible through a cooperation of all Find-A-Grave contributors. I work hard to source all my information before I ever request any corrections or additions or make changes to a memorial.

All memorials I have added or manage at this point are family members in one way or another.

So if I manage a direct ancestor in your line and they are not my direct ancestor then I will transfer them to you. If they are a direct ancestor to both of us I will keep them but hope to work with you to make the memorial as complete and accurate as possible.

If at any time you have additional information or corrections please let me know.

Happy family searching.
