Cynthia Maharrey was born and raised in a small town in West Virginia before the turn of the century. She is fascinated by the intricacies that make up her own family history and has, as a result, been researching and studying it since the late 1900's.

A 1991 graduate of Berea College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Cynthia decided to go back to school in 2013, and in December, she earned a certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University. With that accomplishment, she turned her "most favorite thing to do" into her livelihood.

Cynthia is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society, the Kentucky Genealogical Society, the Greenbrier County (West Virginia) Historical Society, and the Monroe County (West Virginia) Historical Society.

She is married to Michael, her rock, and together they are raising three teenagers. They reside in central Kentucky.
