I have been doing genealogy for 40+ years, having written 2 books (James Beveridge Descendants: A Family History in 1996 and In Their Honor: Military & Patriot Descendants of James Beveridge & Jean (McKinney) White in 2006, which included ancestral military services of spouses), a pamphlet (The Saga of the Banks Family), and participated in a North Haven Historical Society's podcast about "Aunt Peppermint's" house of ill-repute run by William Banks.

As the first generation not to be born on the
Fox Islands since the 1760's, I focus on the families of Vinalhaven (North Haven, Vinalhaven & Matinicus), especially the missing children & unknown spouses. Am in the process of writing a book about "The Early Families of North Fox Isle."

My goal in participating in findagrave is to be able to share this information with those who are looking for family members, their ancestral lines and the trials & tribulations their family members shared. This information does no good just sitting in my computer.
