I've been a member of FindaGrave before they were acquired by Ancestry. This website is one of the most helpful in cross checking ancestors and in honoring those gone before us by adding information to pages I maintain belonging to a number of my relatives/ancestor's graves across Texas.

I'm a member of the DAR and I'm working on my Daughter's of the Republic of TX application.

I come from a family on both parent's lines that has kept fantastic and accurate records, probably because of the skill set of two grandparents, one on each line, who loved organizing records and were sticklers for factual accuracy.

My direct line surnames for research up my paternal line are: Roberts, Standlee, Walker, Wheat, up one arm, then Armstrong, Little, Fisher, Cline up another arm.

On my maternal side: Wilson, Carson, Duffy, Davidson,
Durant (various spellings), Hassard/Hazzard (various spellings), Cooper, Conner, McDowell, Sewell/Zuill, Cook, Up another maternal arm: McKinstry, Stewart, Moore, Lewis, Karr, McDonald, Moffitt.

In addition, I am a volunteer to photograph graves to upload to FAG by request by family or friends of a deceased loved one or genealogist.
