Born in New Haven, CT, daughter of two first-generation Irish-Americans - Fords from Fenagh, Leitrim; and Sullivans from Caherdaniel, Kerry.Should also mention the grandmas: Harvey from Oghill, Mohill, and Ann (Guckian) Wynn from Leitrim, probably Fenagh.My grandfather was one of the five "Sacred Heart Uncles," as they were referred to back in Ireland. They all lived on The Hill and worked for the railroad. They had huge families and recycled the same family names - a genealogist's nightmare! I will be going to St. Bernard Cemetery this spring - a place where my mother pushed me in a carriage when I was a baby - to hunt for Fords, Marks, Hugos, and anything else that looks familiar.
