Bio

I am a board member of the St Pauls Evangelical Cemetery Association and have listed many of the graves at the St Pauls Find A Grave web page. I based the grave information on St Pauls cemetery and church records and cross-checked them with Art Ladenburger's Mendota Area German Pioneer Families and The Forgotten History of St Paul's Church (The Anundsen Publishing Company, Decorah, IA, 2003) and with Carol and Steve Shipp's 1993 catalogue of the cemetery markers for the Bureau County Genealogical Society.

There are two plot identification numbers for each grave. The first is the number used in the cemetery records. Following that number is a set of parentheses. The first number in the parentheses is the row number used by Carol and Steve Shipp. The number following the hyphen indicates the position of the marker in that row.

With their meager budget and much volunteer effort the cemetery association maintains St Pauls Cemetery with pride. Hopefully the Find A Grave web page will help relatives and researchers appreciate those efforts.

Anyone wishing to contribute to those efforts financially or with labor may contact the association via my email.
