Bio

My recent efforts within F.A.G. have been connecting siblings and their parents "together again". These 'links' are dedicated to Nana Bessie Alling Bronson Thomas, who always hoped that Grandpa Harry Burdette Thomas would be moved and buried next to her. I'm afraid these simple links are going to be the best I can do.

I was born and raised in Milford, Connecticut. I moved to Colorado in 1975. Worked at Rocky Mountain National Park for 27+ years - now retired.

My Aunt Catharina Smith Curtiss and Aunt Mary Thomas introduced me to our family history back in the early 1970's. And much credit goes to Stanley Ward McBirney, a 2nd cousin twice removed (F.A.G.# 122181211), who left us a detailed history of our Scots-Irish roots.

Years later I started delving into my lineage, starting with the simple family trees and notes I had jotted down and the McBirney history - entering them in Family Tree Maker (v. 8.0). In the 1990's I established a simple website using the then 'state of the art' software GedPrivy and GedPage 2.21. Over the years kin near and far found the website and contacted me, and in tandem we have added ancestors and new arrivals.

After nearly 25 years the website was taken down in January of 2018. It would appear the way that people search and use the Internet has changed dramatically, and where I used to get multiple 'hits' and inquiries and contacts per year - those eventually dwindled to none. But ...

Many relatives asked for the web site again, so in 2023 it is online again at https://www.pondohome.com Whether or not it shows up in any web search will be up to the bots that search the Internet.

I'm a member of the Connecticut Society of Genealogists (CSG) # 17999
