Mothers maiden name is (Bonner). Her father (Malcolm Bonner) is a descendant from the Bonner family of Bath, Washington , Beaufort county, NC and her mother, Jessie Lee Swanner was raised in Chocowhinity, NC by the Stilley/Cox family. Jessie Lee Swanner father, William Swanner, died when she was age 3 ....newspaper articles on her father William Swanner: (1) "Herring Fish Barrels with bottles of alcohol" Bootlegging . 2) he committed suicide at a home in Grimesland, NC, April 16, 1916). William Swanner was adopted by Jordan Oscar Swanner and Nancy of Washington, NC. He married Addie Lee Stilley who died when my grandmother was age 13. It's been said that William Swanner was an orphan from VA but no one knows his bio family. HOWEVER, there may be a "clue"on his death certificate. Jordon Oscar Swanner signed his death certificate which listed "someone else" as his father. The best I can make out is first name D,H or S Blant Summerlin from Beauford, NC. ????
