Bio

I am originally from Durham, North Carolina and now live in sunny Florida. I have been working diligently on my ancestry for about 9 years now. I have been careful to only add proven information to my tree. I have now taken 4 separate DNA tests, one MtDna, and had my father take the X and Y full sequence DNA test to corroborate my research. If I suggest any edits on Find-A-Grave, rest assured it is not based on assumptions or conjecture. I have almost 58,000 people in my tree now and only a small portion of those are in the unsure or research phase.

Ancestry research has become my passion, as I find out more and more about the people I have descended from. From Quakers, prominent land and plantation owners, Confederate and Revolutionary War heroes, political leaders, to known fore-fathers and early American pioneers and colonists. Most interesting to me has been learning that though I have very dark eyes and hair, I have little to zero Native American or Spanish traces in my family lineage or DNA. I am 100% from the UK areas of England, Scotland, Wales, and Norway and trace back to royalty on both sides of my tree. Who knew I had such Viking and fancy royal lineage roots? I have been to London, Ireland and Wales though I am currently planning my next trip to Scotland as a lineage trip and will be visiting as many of these areas my ancestors came from as I can.

I am happy to do this family tracing for myself, but mostly for my two children who will someday appreciate this information as much as I do.
