After receiving a box of family photos which led to creating a family tree I discovered Find A Grave. I was elated to find headstone photos for ancestors in New Jersey that I was just learning about. The rest is history. I signed up immediately to volunteer and fulfill requests and just take photos. I hope someone else will start their family tree and stumble upon a headstone photo and a “new” ancestor and be just as happy as I was.

When the weather and lighting is good my husband and I venture out to local cemeteries. Some are so organized, have maps, directories and are pristine while others are a bit neglected. It is always fun to visit cemeteries while traveling too.
