Bio

First and foremost, I am a Christian, and give God the glory for everything I have accomplished in my life. Second, I am a Texan born and bred in East Texas. I have lived here all my life, but have traveled to many other states. I am a retired nurse and miss helping sick folks, but I still have my family to care for.

My Mother and cousin were very much into genealogy and so I was the designated driver to several states hunting down ancestors and cemeteries. They have both deceased since all the trekking around the country (may they rest in peace with the Lord) and although I was not very interested in the genealogy part, I have become very interested since I retired in 2015 from many years of nursing.

My love for cemeteries began at a young age when me and my best friend, Charlotte, used to play in the one down the road from my home. I have always been fascinated by the beautiful headstones and as I grew older, I began to have an interest in the names and inscriptions on the gravestones.

As I became an amateur photographer, I began to take pictures of cemeteries across the country and states, so began the collection.

My Mother, daughter, and granddaughters also love to roam old cemeteries and look at the many different gravestones and people's names and inscriptions. We have spent many hours wandering through so many old county cemeteries and had so much fun.

My husband is the retired Veteran's Service Officer for our county and is a Veteran Marine himself. We have both been very involved in the VFW and other Veteran related areas, so I am diligent in making memorials for passed veterans. My husband is also the former Chairman of the Historical Commission in our county. We are very diligent in trying to preserve the history of our cemeteries. He has been a big help in locating graves for photographing.

While searching for ancestors on Ancestors.com, I became aquainted with Find A Grave. It has been a godsend in helping connect relatives. I was curious about where all the information came from so I started reading and found that I could also be a part of this wonderful website, so I joined and have been captivated by it ever since. It falls into place with my photography and love for cemeteries. Not only can I take pictures of the gravestones and cemeteries ....I can also help others find their relatives and see the resting place and graves of their loved ones and friend's.

I learn more each day about the past and importance of memorializing it.

GREAT JOB to all who have spent hours adding memorials, walking cemeteries, locating grave sites, and photographing cemeteries so the rest of us can see the final resting place of our relatives for the first time!

So, thank you Find A Grave, for this opportunity to help others and enjoy it at the same time.
Any photos that I have taken and added to Findagrave may be used for genealogy purposes.

If you are related I would be more than happy to transfer, if they are not my relatives. Always happy to see the memorials in the hands of relatives.

Just a side note...to the people who use this website just to create "numbers" SHAME ON YOU! You know who you are. In my short time of being a member, I have encountered some inconsiderate folks. Remember...this site is to HELP others find there loved ones, not to stroke your egos.
