Bio

I have been into my family genealogy since about 2002, off and on. My family website : freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ohiovalleygoddards/ originates with my g-g-g-g-g-grandparents William and Elizabeth Goddard of the Plum Tree Plantation on Dunkard Creek in Greene County, PA.

I was born and raised in the upper Ohio River Valley in West Virginia but I now live in Washington County, PA. Being semi-retired I am back into the genealogy thing and will be visiting genealogical and historical places and cemeteries in primarily Greene County, PA to try to track down some more information on William and Elizabeth.

I am willing to do research and photos for cemeteries in Washington and Greene counties in Pennsylvania. I'm new to this area so please be patient as I do not know the names and/or locations of ANY cemeteries in the area and will have to do so investigating just to get there. Photo volunteers from outside my original Ohio Valley area have been so helpful. I have, through this website and a few special requests for unposted photos, managed to add or enhance my information on file for over 500 family members. The only way to repay that kindness is to pass it on whenever and wherever I can.

My mother thinks it's morbid that I search through cemeteries, often just to snap a pic for someone I don't even know but, for me, it is both cathartic and educational. I always marvel at some of the family plots I have encountered, how big and/or ornate.

Being new to my home in Pennsylvania I have learned so much about the area and the people who settled here.
