Bio

I am happily married to my husband Marvin, we met on a blind date and have been married 39 years February and in April we've been together 44 years! I was 18 he was 16 when we met.
I was blessed the day we met : )

I have 2 full blooded brothers
Michael S. Long (deceased) 1 year older than me
and William C. Jones (Billy) 1 year younger than me.
I have 22 half siblings!
I have numerous nieces and nephews who i deeply love as if they were my own children. All my family has a wonderful sense of humor and always laughing nonstop when we get together.
We have many nationalities in our family.
I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoy the family trips we go on. I was blessed with 3 sets of family...my biological family's and my foster family : )
I love photography it has been a lifelong passion of mine since i was a little girl. At 10 years old i was given a Kodak camera and little did that person know that my love for photography would blossom and that passion would stay with me my whole life. I love to collect old cameras working or not its the history they represent and i still find it amazing that with the push of a button you can freeze time and moments forever!
I firmly believe whatever your passion is pursue it and enjoy the adventure along the way.
My most favorite place to be is at the coast. I've never met a beach i didn't like! I always say my spirit dwells there. One of my most favorite things i love to do is walk on the shore under a full moon. And seeing the full moon shining on the ocean is so awesome. To just stand on the shore with my eyes closed and just listen to the sound of the ocean and feel the ocean breeze on my face is so calming. Lay down on the shore at night and look up at all the stars and listen to the ocean,it is such an incredible experience. .....it makes all the problems in this world seem so insignificant and small...just letting go of all the rat race and monotony of day to day living...it puts so many things in perspective and that's why i love the coast and i always have since i was knee high. If i could that's where i would be living. But i enjoy every chance i get to be there.
I love reading American history books and watching documentaries. I think World history is fascinating as well especially Egyptology. I love watching anything about Oceanography. I love Archeology and all space exploration.
I love the little journeys
back in time with Genealogy and reading stories about my heritage and also of other people's fascinating family history. I have several ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 and the Civil War and both World War I and II and the Korean War and the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. So having heros in my family bloodline is an honor and i'm grateful to them all for fighting for my freedom and their sacrifice..
I love to read books every day and again American history being my favorite and reading Biography's and Autobiography's. I also love a really good mystery suspense book. I love to draw another passion i've had since I was young. There are several artists in my family. I love horses,a gene i inherited from my Grandmother Ada Pearl Long and also growing up with a Pinto pony named Beauty in my childhood. The beautiful Clydesdale is my favorite horse and the stunning Friesian breed and Gypsy Vanner and the Tennessee Walking horse.
My husband and I sadly were not blessed with children but we have our feline fur baby's to love and sometimes they turn into Gremlins....LOL.
We love living in our small town rural area community, it's so easy going and not the rat race we moved from. Our covered front porch with a porch swing is my favorite place to sit at,it's so peaceful and quiet with a sprinkle of chirping from the beautiful birds. I think there should be a law requiring that all homes must be built with a front porch. My husband and i are natives of Charlotte, NC.,i don't miss the rat race there. Living in a small town is more my speed. Rich history prevails here and with much pride. It is considered the second most historical city in SC with Charleston being the first. We have the most historical markers in the state. There are numerous cemeteries here with many Civil War graves and some Revolutionary War as well.
I really enjoy FindAGrave i have found so many family and friends gravesites on here and since i can't travel to other states to visit their graves at least i get to go there virtually. I so enjoy the great history i've read on here as well as wonderful stories.
And to my ancestors - I wish we could have met but we will one sweet day.
That's it for now!
Always keep a smile on your face and a song in your heart : )
