I have been doing family research since 1993 with FTM and before that was on paper. Thankfully my mother, aunt and both grandmothers had many pictures with names. It is great to add faces to the tree. Some of them date to the late 1890's to early 1900's.
After taking 2 different DNA test I have been able to make contact with cousins I only knew by name, others I did not know on my tree and we have shared information that is not available yet and pictures. Doing research I have found people I knew from school and worked with and did not know we were related. I am going thru each name and adding information that was not available when their name was added on my tree. I still use Family Tree Maker to record my information. I will gladly share any information I have including pictures.
I served in the Marine Corps, Viet Nam Vet. Was a volunteer Fire and EMS for almost 20 years. Since I am retired I spend hours each day doing research.
