Jim Brown is semi-retired and lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born in Emporia, Kansas, and grew up in Colorado, living in Pueblo, Rocky Ford and Colorado Springs. He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1971 and immediately joined the Peace Corps and worked for a year with coffee planters in the Ivory Coast, West Africa, to organize their villages into marketing cooperatives. Before moving to Salt Lake City, he worked for over 20 years as a contract mortgage underwriter and traveled all over the U.S. working for Wells Fargo, Aurora Loan Services, USAA, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch and many other financial companies. He has a daughter, Vickie Harrold, who lives in Idaho and three grandchildren.
