Bio

In researching my own family tree Dunlop/Rundell, I came across a record of death for my great grandfather, Samuel Dunlop. Along with his death record were the records of other men who died the same day, by the same cause, at the same place. It was then that I discovered the mining disaster that occurred on February 10, 1928 at the Hollinger Gold Mine in Timmins, Ontario. 39 miners were killed in that disaster including my great grandfather.

Along with continuing my own family tree research, I also have an interest in this disaster including looking for the final resting places for each of the 39 miners. I spent some time in Timmins this summer (2018) and was able to find many of them. The search does continue however.
