Bio

I grew up visiting my father's relatives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and have many fond memories of Nanticoke and the surrounding areas. Messick Funeral Home handled the arrangements for many of our family members going back to when they opened in 1859 - sorry to see them closed. Our ties to the Eastern Shore can be traced to the 1600's with immigration from England and I'm very interested in locating the burial areas of as many of my Lankford, White, Messick (Mezick), Wingate, Hughes, Evans, Rencher, Willing, and Denson relatives on my father's side as possible.

I'm also researching my Rankin, George, Elton, and Bowman relatives from England, Ireland, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and Iowa on my mother's side.

I mostly only manage memorials of my own family members. An exception is the Langford descendants of Henry Upsher Langford as a tribute to his late great grandson Alvin Richard Young. Alvin and I spent many long-distance hours discussing his family line. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the family line organized in FaG before he unexpectedly passed away in 2020.

I do extensive research and verification of birth and death reports, marriage records, census reports, and other records before I suggest edits or request transfers. That said, I have no intention of "hoarding" these memorials, but strive to link the family members together. I am open and willing to transfer memorials to other relatives who have a closer relationship than I have with the person concerned.
